ASTM A1014/A1014M UNS N07718 Bolting Specification PDF
Below is the complete specification document for ASTM
A1014/A1014M
Precipitation-Hardening Bolting (UNS N07718).
- Edition: A1014/A1014M-16ε1, approved May 1, 2016; supplementary requirements editorially corrected January 2018.
- Scope: precipitation-hardening bolting material and bolting components in UNS N07718 for high temperature service; ASTM A962/A962M common requirements are indispensable (1.1, 1.2).
- Melting: multiple-melted with consumable electrode remelting, or vacuum induction melted (5.1).
- Heat treatment: solution 1725 to 1850 °F [940 to 1010 °C]; age 1325 °F [720 °C] 8 h, furnace cool to 1150 °F [620 °C] at 100 °F [55 °C] per hour, hold 8 h (5.2).
- Straightening only after solution treating and before aging; threads rolled in one pass after oxide removal (5.3, 5.4).
- Table 2 minimums: 185 ksi [1275 MPa] tensile, 150 ksi [1035 MPa] yield, 12 % elongation, 15 % reduction of area, 331 to 444 HBW; stress rupture 23 h at 1200 °F and 100 ksi.
- Full-size tensile test for headed components with body length of 3D or more (7.3); grain size ASTM No. 5 or finer, no Laves phase (8.1).
- Marking "718" plus manufacturer's symbol (11.1); certification adds the heat treatment cycles (12.1); supplementary requirements S1 to S6 by order only.
