Full Thread Stud Bolts for Pipe Flange Bolting in Pressure Systems.
ASME B16.5 Full Thread Stud Bolts are externally threaded fasteners with continuous threading across their full length, the standard fastener type for ASME B16.5 pipe flanges in pressure piping systems across oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and process industries. The standard governs flange dimensions, pressure-temperature ratings, and stud bolt sizes for flange classes 150 through 2500. These stud bolts comply with ASTM A1014/A1014M for UNS N07718 (Inconel 718) bolting with 150 ksi minimum tensile strength, superior chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance, and performance from cryogenic to over 700°C — ideal for sour gas, subsea, and high-temperature flange bolting. ASTM A193 Grade B7 is the most common alloy steel grade for general process service, while A320 Grade L7 covers cryogenic applications. Used with two heavy hex nuts per ASTM A194, the full-thread design allows precise length adjustment for insulating kits, spacers, and varying gasket thicknesses. Also related to B18.31.2 full body clamping studs for applications requiring an unthreaded shank.
