    Heavy Hex Screws for Structural & Industrial Applications.

    ASME B18.2.1 Heavy Hex Screws are inch-series fasteners featuring a wider and taller hexagonal head compared to standard hex screws, providing superior bearing area and reliable clamping in heavy-duty structural, pressure equipment, and pipeline flange connections. The standard governs head height, width across flats, width across corners, thread length, and underhead fillet radii for sizes from 3/8 inch to 6 inches in diameter. These fasteners are used with ASTM A1014/A1014M for UNS N07718 (Inconel 718) bolting in environments demanding high tensile strength, stress corrosion cracking resistance, and stability at extreme temperatures. Also available in ASTM A193 for high-temperature service and ASTM A320 for low-temperature bolting. Engineers must pair the B18.2.1 dimensional standard with an appropriate ASTM material specification to define both form and performance.
